It is important that the budget is closely scrutinized to make certain that only necessary and prudent expenses are incurred.  Only programs that are supported by the community should be paid for with tax dollars.

Funding of our City Government requires that our local economy be strong.  Currently the rate of growth in our business sector is flat and is projected for the foreseeable future as remaining flat. 

With the recent downturn in the housing market, and the current economic trends, the upward collection of tax receipts will flatten, putting a strain on available funds for operating the city. 

It is important to improve our local business economic viability.  A viable business community supports a vibrant city.
